Leading analyst firms recognize Oracle Analytics services for innovations in augmented analytics and natural language query and generation. Oracle has been named a Visionary in the Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms – the second year in a row. Oracle Analytics services use embedded artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze your business data, making you more intelligent predictions and better decisions.

Oracle Analytics Server

Take full advantage of augmented analytics while meeting your specific configuration needs. Oracle Analytics Server helps organizations that require on-premises or customer-managed deployment options discover more unique insights from their data. Existing OBIEE customers can modernize their analytics environment while having the flexibility to migrate to the cloud (public and private) at their own pace.

OBIEE

Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition-OBIEE offers advanced features like agile visual analytics, self-service discovery, and state-of-the-art enterprise analytics. Seamless mobile capabilities, interactive and user-friendly dashboards, robust reporting capabilities, just-in-time alerts, content and metadata search, strategy management, native access to Big Data sources, sophisticated in-memory computing, and streamlined systems management. These features make OBIEE a comprehensive solution that reduces the TCO and drives faster ROI.

Oracle Analytics Cloud

Oracle Analytics Cloud helps organizations discover better and faster insights with machine learning. It offers a comprehensive platform and empowers your whole organization to ask any question of your data – across any environment and from any device. With augmented analytics, you can combine data across your organization with third-party data and automate essential but time-consuming tasks such as data preparation, data visualization, reporting, and forecasting. Empower business leaders, data analysts, and IT teams to access data wherever they are, even using mobile devices.

OAS vs. OBIEE vs. OAC

Oracle Analytics Server helps existing OBIEE customers modernize their analytics while having the flexibility to transition to the cloud (public or private) at their own pace. Oracle Analytics Server empowers customers to:

  • Leverage AI-powered augmented analytics for machine learning-assisted data analysis and data enrichment.
  • Experience modern and powerful analytics with self-service data visualization capabilities.
  • Drive innovation by discovering new insights from both structured and unstructured data.
  • Get faster insights with Explain, an AI-powered tool that uses machine learning to show data correlations, distributions, and segmentation.
Oracle Analytics services also make it easier to explore data to create and share compelling stories and derive meaningful insights visually. You can drive faster insights and better decisions with actionable information. A code-free drag-and-drop interface enables anyone in the organization to build interactive data visualizations without specialized skills or programming. Existing OBIEE customers can upgrade to Oracle Analytics Server and benefit from adding augmented analytics and AI-powered data enrichment with in-place or out-of-place upgrades to their existing environment. Customers who are current on their maintenance and support and use OBIEE are eligible for the upgrades without additional costs. At first glance, it might seem like Oracle replicated their Oracle Analytics Cloud product for on-premise users with Oracle Analytics Server. But, a few minor differences exist between them, besides the fact that one is on-premise and another is cloud-based. Oracle Analytics Server rolled out with most of the features of Oracle Analytics Cloud, with a few exceptions such as data replication and natural language generation. Oracle Analytics Server, like Oracle Analytics Cloud, provides access to your data irrespective of where it’s sourced from – Oracle databases, Oracle applications, third-party sources, and Excel files.

Conclusion

OBIEE users will recognize Oracle Analytics Server and its functionality, though some features have been eliminated. Overall, Oracle Analytics Server shares more similarities with Oracle Analytics Cloud than with OBIEE. This is intentional as Oracle Analytics Server was designed to help on-premise customers transition to the cloud with minimal effort.
