One of the essential products in the Oracle BI portfolio is Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). OBIEE is a comprehensive BI platform with various tools and features for data visualization, dashboarding, reporting, and analytics. It can be used to analyze and report on data from multiple sources, including relational databases, data warehouses, and big data systems. OBIEE is designed to be scalable and flexible and can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud.
Support for Oracle Business Intelligence Solutions
Oracle provides support for older versions of OBIEE for a limited period. The exact length of support depends on the specific version of OBIEE and when it was released. Oracle generally provides support for a minimum of 5 years from the release date, with additional extended support available for an additional fee.
Once a version of OBIEE reaches the end of its support life, Oracle no longer provides technical support, such as bug fixes and security patches, for that version. Organizations must plan to upgrade to a newer version of OBIEE in a timely manner to ensure they have access to the latest features and security updates.

- Plan your migration strategy, including any upgrades or modifications to your existing OBIEE 11g environment.
- Prepare for the Migration by backing up your OBIEE 11g environment and setting up a test environment for the new OBIEE 12c installation.
- Install and configure OBIEE 12c, following the instructions provided in the Oracle documentation.
- Migrate your OBIEE 11g metadata, including catalogs, security, and data sources, to OBIEE 12c using the migration tools provided.
- Test and validate the migrated OBIEE 12c environment to ensure everything works as expected.
- Deploy the new OBIEE 12c environment and decommission the old OBIEE 11g environment.
It is important to follow best practices and carefully plan and test your Migration to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition from OBIEE 11g to OBIEE 12c.
Oracle EBS OBIEE Integration
You can integrate OBIEE with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) to provide organizations with a comprehensive business intelligence solution. OBIEE can be used to analyze and report on data from EBS and other data sources to help organizations make better, data-driven decisions.
To integrate OBIEE with EBS, you will need to set up a connection between the two systems. You can do it using several methods, including ODBC, JDBC, or the Oracle EBS Adapter for OBIEE. Once the connection is built, you can use OBIEE to create reports, dashboards, and other BI content based on data from EBS.
