WEHCO Media, Inc. was faced with the looming de-support of its Oracle EBS R12.1 applications on January 1, 2022.  A decision had to be made to either continue to run Oracle EBS R12.1 on Oracle’s Sustaining Support model, purchase expensive Oracle Market Driven Support for R12.1, or complete the upgrade to EBS R12.2 prior to 12/31/2021 so that Oracle Premier support would continue.

We decided that continuing to run EBS R12.1 was too risky considering the possible lack of compliance with changing regulations and policies, missing out on important software updates and bug fixes, and a possible delay in support response.  For these reasons the decision was made to upgrade to EBS R12.2.

WEHCO has a small IT staff and the same resources supporting EBS also support other key areas of our business.  We needed to free up resources for other projects and we wanted the upgrade project to be successful and completed on time, so a decision was made to use an outside company experienced in all things Oracle and with the capability to have an inside track in to Oracle’s support organization.

We selected Rite Software to plan and execute the upgrade and deliver extensive upgrade documentation to the IT staff for knowledge transfer.  Rite managed the project and conducted twice weekly project status calls to keep everyone informed on the progress.  With any major upgrade there will be challenges and Rite was able to address all concerns and the upgrade was completed on time and within budget.

Rite Software did a great job with our Oracle EBS R12.2 upgrade.  We were impressed with their professionalism, dedication, and hard work.  We look forward to working with Rite on future Oracle projects.
